The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Learn more at nationaldayofprayer.org. This year's theme is unity. The theme verse is Ephesians 4:3. "Making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."
This year we are partnering with Mount Zion Baptist Church. On May 3 between 11:30-12:30 PM we will join Mount Zion in their sanctuary to pray for our country and community. We encourage all of Southside to attend if able. If work or other scheduling conflicts cause you to be unable to come, we encourage you to pray throughout the day.
