The Beauty of Who You Are
Why is it so important to know that we are beautiful and uniquely made? Isn’t vain or prideful to have thoughts like that? Shouldn’t I look in the mirror and tell myself how terrible and wretched I am? For too many Christians this is our mindset. However, this is also how much the world thinks of themselves as well; even many of the so-called “beautiful” people. When they are alone away from all the accolades and flattery, many hear the voices that tell them if only people knew the real you or you with your real thoughts then they would know how hideous you are. As Christians we think self-confidence is a "catch 22.” We either live in a prideful place or a place of self-doubt or self-loathing. Unfortunately, the things that people say about teenagers via sarcasm, malicious intent or without thinking about the gravity of what they said can be devastating and even life threatening. The enemy is bent on destroying God’s greatest creation. That creation is you and me. He will do anything he can to keep us from knowing the truth about how beautiful and awesome we are. Yes, I used the word awesome. Believe it or not, that is what it says in the Bible about us. This Sunday we are going to look at the beauty of who we are and even how our ugly past can be seen as beautiful through God. That is the beauty of it all - our beauty glorifies God! I don’t care how young or old you are, I truly believe this Sunday’s message is for all of us. I hope to see you this Sunday for this important message.
Love you all,
